2025 Business Venture Spotlight: Ezra Financial, the world’s first financial platform for hourly workers and their employers. Ezra is a financial services platform designed to help employers enhance the retention, performance, and financial security of their frontline workers, starting with savings. Their goal is to make it easier for everyone, particularly working-class Americans, to feel a sense of ownership over their work and lives, exemplifying the ORI of Developing New Labor Models & “Good Jobs.” Co-Founder & CEO Dashell Laryea founded Ezra in November 2023. Our team recently heard from Joshua Gao (Vault Kinetics, Emerging Founders 2024) as he reflected on his experience at last year’s Praxis Summit. He shared, “I initially found out about the program through a mentor of mine, in college. I told him about my plans for the future and the type of life I wanted to lead. The next day he handed me his copy of the Praxis Community Update—I stayed up reading every Praxis founder story I could find. ēMA's founder and CEO, Charlee Tchividjian, joined Praxis' 2024 Imagination Summit as part of a plenary panel alongside Praxis Managing Partner Sajan George, Dan Vogel (Flourish Fund, Studio 2024), and Adrien Lewis (CarePortal). Together, they explored their thesis-driven approach to rethinking and reshaping the foster care system. Charlee and her panel partners shared insights backed by extensive research, highlighting how working directly with mothers to preserve families and mobilizing care in moments of crisis can reveal new ways for church communities to support the most vulnerable among us.
