It's #ConstructionInclusionWeek and for the past four years, we've been the principal consultant proudly working behind the scenes to bring this #constructionindustry initiative to life. This week is important to not only celebrate the diversity that makes this industry great, but to honestly reflect on ways it should improve and how every firm and individual has a role to play in that progress. Our team has been hard at work all year to make sure that participants and sponsors throughout the #AEC industry can easily access, learn and most importantly, implement the critically important resources. Grateful to support?Innovan Neighborhoods led by Maggie J. Parker in advancing their project goals.?Last night, they hosted a #CommunityEngagement meeting for a new residential development. Having invested significant time, resources, and dedication to understanding the community’s needs, this meeting was a key moment in gaining necessary support to move the project forward. Ensuring the community fully understood and appreciated the goals and project vision was a key intention. Behind the scenes, PRAXIS provided strategic insights and refined the messaging to ensure it addressed community considerations. We believe authentic, transparent, and culturally competent engagement is essential when connecting with communities and embracing change. As part of the City of Dallas’ 1,000-unit challenge, this project will bring both market-rate and workforce housing to an area in need of modern options. Late reflection from the #PoetryAndArchitecture event hosted last week by DFWNOMA - still basking in the words, art, creative expression, and energy of the night. As someone said: ideas all start with the pen (or pencil)- design, art, sketch, & strategy. PRAXIS Strategic Consulting, LLC was a proud sponsor and also engaged one of our print partners- Lawton Reprographic Centers, Inc. as an in-kind sponsor to help realize the vision. Super cool to see some of our projects/clients in the artwork and seeing friends like Derrick Walker and L. Lorraine Jackson, AIA, RID, NOMA showcase their creativity was the icing on the cake. Kudos to Corrin J. Breeding and Erika Cooper for planning such an dynamic event. This was definitely for the people and reflective of the culture, underscoring that everyone has a place in the #builtenvironment- a refreshing shift from typical #AEC #CRE industry events.
