This is not from a legal app. This is a question put to a "digital twin" developed by my friends at Praxis AI. It's AI middleware for the education sector, "modified and guided" in this instance by me through PGYA Consulting in support of a tool launching shortly for Ontario Bar Association members to help them learn and safely explore AI's power, peril and potential in their practice. The twin (called LawQi inside the coming OBA tool, but Pria when delivered directly through Praxis) is of me as instructor. Its knowledge base includes the full scope of the learning resources that will be provided and its powers include web search as well as much of the Anthropic and OpenAI tech and tools that power it. My influence over LawQi as instructor is to set its priorities and personality by way of a system prompt I devised that includes specific instructions over: 1. Identity 2. Purpose 3. Knowledge sources (including citing to sources) 4. Internet usage (including sites to avoid) 5. Search strategies 6. Audience focus 7. Salutation (*always include a movie quote") 8. Interpretation 9. Concision 10. Priorities 11. Limitations (as in, explaining to the user limitations of the response) 12. and some other stuff... LawQi serves two main goals within the learning tool: a tutor that knows what skills the lessons are trying to impart; and a transparent experience of how LLMs and the apps built around them are meant to work. The images attached to this post (the live version of which can be found at the link in the comments), and in particular the second image of the bottom half of the response, are an example of how we will teach OBA members to evaluate generative AI chatbot and other LLM outputs through hands-on, experiential learning. As LawQi is built on top of the leading LLMs, OBA members will find the experience and lessons learned to be immediately transferrable to both popular chatbots and commercial apps targeted at the legal profession I'm incredibly excited about our coming launch and anxious to test my theory that this will be a great way to prepare lawyers for the AI realities of 2025.
