In acknowledgment of Black History Month, we want to congratulate Collaborative Bridges and celebrate the important milestone they achieved earlier this month: the inauguration of their Wellness Center in Chicago’s West Side. Collaborative Bridges has sought for many years ways to minimize and improve the huge healthcare gap among underdeveloped communities within the city and city outskirts. Less economic development means there is less availability for mental healthcare services, but the Collaborative is clear in one simple truth: strength is found in community. We want to highlight the importance of their work empowering patients and restoring hope specifically in predominately black communities. Maria Prado was very proud to be part of their grand opening. P&R sees this as being part of the next step in their process for growth and sustainability. This wellness center is an accomplishment for the Collaborative, now having a place to operate from, where they will support mental health patients.

Maria and Hilda enjoyed a lively conversation with ALPFA at UIC. We appreciate the opportunity to connect with students and share our experiences. ??

Our team had an amazing experience volunteering at Urban Rivers in honor of Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS) annual CPA Day of Service. Urban Rivers is dedicated in transforming city rivers into wildlife sanctuaries, allowing us to connect with nature without leaving the city. On Saturday, we had the opportunity to help maintain their Wild Mile's garden, planting, and cleaning up the Chicago river on kayaks. ??
