Our work for Innerwork with Practice named Site of the Week on ilovecreatives's Internet Gems ?? https://lnkd.in/ge8s2X_y
Founded by independent brand-builder Michelle Mattar, Practice is a creative firm designing category-defining brands from end to end. Our brand-building process is holistic, encompassing everything it takes to launch a market-ready brand, or rebrand, from start to finish. Through our unique partnership model, we partner with first-time founders and established leaders alike, serving as their in-house creative team to bring their visions to life. We intentionally take on only a few clients each year, allowing us to work closely with each one, prioritize quality over speed, and act as your creative thought partner through every step of the process.

We’re honored to be featured in Fast Company’s article “The rise of the ‘Goldilocks’ design company”, which takes a behind-the-scenes look at why we (and other design firms) have decided to grow with intention & keep operations small. Before launching Practice, Michelle Mattar spent some time working in other shops. She was not a fan of the “us vs. them” dynamic at agencies when it comes to clients — and she also didn’t understand why the business was often so siloed (strategists, designers, etc.) when everyone was working on the exact same project. In 2021, Michelle founded Practice out of the belief that brand-building could look drastically different. Since our founding, we’ve continued to champion an intentional approach to business — maintaining a uniquely small team, fostering close partnerships with our clients, and cultivating a holistic approach to branding. Thank you Fast Company and Zachary Petit for featuring us, and in such good company alongside leaders Jonny Black, Austin Dunbar, Aron Fay, Pum Lefebure and jake lefebure
Introducing the new Clarify. Founded in 2015, Clarify uncovers insights hidden in healthcare data, translating them into clear decisions that improve care outcomes and reduce spend. We helped Clarify blueprint their next evolution with a full brand audit and an end-to-end brand refresh that rebuilds their vision for the future of healthcare. As part of the rebrand, we transformed each of their software and data products into intuitively-named solutions called “building blocks”: integrated, stackable solutions made for achieving targeted business outcomes. https://lnkd.in/ecshp_WF

Two days ago, I joined the #NYCxDesign event "The Business of Design" - with 3 AGENCY Founders sharing frank, behind-the-scenes insights on building & leading the agencies Gander, Studio Rodrigo & Practice. The Panel was moderated by Patrick Durgin-Bruce, hosting Mike McVicar (Co-Founder Gander), Ritik Dholakia (Founder Studio Rodrigo) and Michelle Mattar (Founder Practice) and discussed topics like Positioning, Pricing and Profitability, building Client Relationships and maintaining Sustainable Growth. Speaking of Client Relationships - As someone coming from client-side I asked the panel: Which were their worst 3 clients + why (without giving names)? The answers? When... ? they don't give the right to the agency to say No ? scope of work is changing whilst the projects runs ? political crossfires are eating up creativity ? the people hiring the agency were not the decision maker ? clients undervalue the work and negotiate costs down to zero time/quality As a Creative - which are your biggest pain points with clients? #NYCxDesign #event #NewYork #agencies #clientrelationship
