A very interesting interview of Jelena Tadi? CEO of #PPP Investment and an international evaluator for #UNECE by CorD Magazine about #Serbia’s role in PPP projects and their connection to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (#SDGs). She was asked the following question - What does it mean for the region to be hosting the UNECE PPP Forum in Belgrade? Her answer was the following - "It’s an honour for Belgrade to host such discussions of sustainable investments and infrastructure.?This Forum serves as a platform for knowledge exchange, policy innovation and project collaboration. The presence of UN leaders and top decision- makers reinforces its importance. At the 9th PPP Week PPPCOE in Istanbul, Jelena Tadi? highlighted the importance of the #PIERS methodology to PPP projects, emphasizing its contribution to sustainable urban mobility, financial efficiency, and environmental impact. #Serbia has emerged as a leader in Southeast Europe, having implemented over 200 PPP projects with investments exceeding 4 billion € over the past decade. This progress has facilitated alignment with sustainable development goals. She presented a PPP project utilizing the PIERS methodology for urban passenger bus transport in Belgrade, enhancing environmental and safety standards. Additionally, she announced the 9th UNECE Public-Private Partnerships International Forum, set to take place in #Belgrade from 14-16 May at the Hotel #Hilton. ???UNECE member States achieve significant progress in their Public-Private Partnerships programmes In Geneva, government representatives from 10 UNECE member States across Eastern Europe, the Western Balkans, the Caucasus, and Central Asia came together to advance?PPPs for the SDGs?as a cornerstone of #INFF. The workshop highlighted transformative progress, showcasing how the use of PPPs has allowed huge investments into infrastructure projects across the region. Spanning sectors such as renewable energy, transport, healthcare, education, manufacturing, and culture, these PPP projects are driving sustainable growth by striving to embed SDG principles into every stage—identification, development and implementation. ??The workshop exemplified public-private collaboration and a forward-looking vision for resilient, inclusive, and sustainable regional development! ???Key Takeaways: ??Robust Legal Frameworks:?Strong legal foundations are critical for mobilizing resources and aligning PPP projects with national and global SDG priorities.
