?? 30 years and counting! ?? This week, the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corp. held its annual meeting while celebrating 30 years as an organization. The Lehigh Valley has grown so much over the past three decades and it is positioned to continue on a successful path. It has been a privilege to power growth in the Lehigh Valley and beyond for over a century, and we look forward to powering the future of industries and businesses in eastern and central Pennsylvania.

What a BASH! We had a blast at the IM ABLE Foundation’s annual BASH fundraiser. As a supporter throughout the year, we were invited to play in the wheelchair basketball tournament, IM ABLE’s chance to highlight the great work it does to aid adaptive health and fitness opportunities for so many. While we were sad to lose to our friends over at FirstEnergy, we enjoyed learning the game from our adaptive coaches and taking part in a great event!

? Global Recycling Day ?? We recycle...a lot! We have countless materials moving through our 29 counties every day, and when it’s time to dispose of them, many are sent for recycling. In 2024 alone, we recycled over 12 million pounds of metal and over 3,300 tons of wood. The materials in these photos are examples of what we recycle year-round. #GlobalRecyclingDay

Restoration Update: Thank you for your patience during storm restoration and thank you to our hard-working crews making repairs around the clock! We have clocked more than 425 individual damage locations and restored more than 42,000 customers that lost power from yesterday’s storm. We’ll continue working until every customer has their power back.

Our hearts are warm! ?? Throughout February, our teams set up donation boxes in Harrisburg, Bloomsburg, Allentown, Lancaster and Hazleton, asking for items needed by local warming stations. Each box was assigned to a warming station, and we recently finished delivering these items to their destinations. We hope these items can provide some additional warmth as winter begins to thaw out. ??

Working with organizations like Focus Central Pennsylvania is always a pleasure. We share a common goal of wanting to attract new businesses and projects, and we both know how great it is to call central Pennsylvania home. We look forward to continuing working with Focus and our other partners to power economic growth throughout our service territory!

We believe in preparing today’s students to become tomorrow’s leaders. Beyond the standard curriculum, it’s important to educate students about career paths and opportunities. That’s why we were thrilled to team up with the Partnership for Career Development and sponsor a successful Green Careers Discovery Day at Steelton-Highspire High School. Students were able to learn about careers in sustainability, engineering and environmental sciences at PPL Electric and other Pennsylvania organizations.

?? Story time ?? It’s Read Across America Week! We continued our annual tradition of reading to rooms full of great young students at Hays Elementary School in Allentown. In addition, we donated books to each classroom’s library. We look forward to doing it again next year!
