CarolinaPower continues to engage?today’s youth in an attempt to backfill an "estimated 500,000 shortage of skilled tradespeople nationwide." During January and February, Joey Jose, project manager in Charleston, dedicated time to helping local high schoolers learn real-world construction skills in preparation for the March 4th Build a SHED competition sponsored by ABC Carolinas Chapter. MetroPower’s UWPPC helped out the Macon Area Habitat for Humanity today from 12:00 – 4:00 PM. Ten women from MetroPower participated in Habitat’s Women’s Build in Macon building 3 homes where they installed trim, hung shelves, moved materials and cleaned the houses. #MetroPower #HabitatforHumaity #MaconAreaHabitatforHumanity #WomenBuild #UWPPC

Women in Construction Week 2025 is this week and this year’s theme is Together We Rise. This week is dedicated to celebrating and promoting the vital roles that women play in the construction industry. Women in Construction Week is an opportunity to recognize the achievements and contributions of women in our field, dating back to 1988 when the first WIC Week was held. It highlights the importance of diversity and inclusion, and how these elements drive innovation and success within our industry. Together We Rise emphasizes the collective strength and unity that women bring to the construction sector. It is a call to support and uplift each other, fostering an environment where everyone can thrive. Throughout the week, The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) will be hosting various events to celebrate incredible women and the industry at large. Happy Women in Construction Week!
