p.s. associate Joanne Wu-White served as a member of the planning committee for the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) 47th Annual Bankruptcy Institute. Held this past week, sessions covered various topics affecting the modern practice of bankruptcy law. Joanne organized the keynote speaker for this year’s conference, Professor Melissa Jacoby. Professor Jacoby, the Graham Kenan Professor of Law at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Sullivan & Cromwell Visiting Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, previously assisted the Federal Judicial Center on educational programming for bankruptcy judges and recently wrote Unjust Debts, which was named one of the Financial Times' best summer economics books for 2024.
