?? Fixing Short Cycling for Better Efficiency Shout-out to our Power TakeOff Energy Advisor, Joshua Curry, who uncovered a hidden issue with a school’s chiller in Maryland as part of our Virtual Commissioning program! Here’s the story: The school’s chiller was short cycling—rapidly turning on and off, which is highly inefficient and wastes a lot of energy. Joshua worked with the customer to recommend ways to avoid this issue and suggested other easy-to-implement measures. The results? Incredible! ? Energy savings: 28% reduction in energy usage ?? Cost savings: Approximately $21,500 per year The dotted lines show their energy consumption before the changes, while the solid lines and shaded area reveal the impact after. This is a perfect example of how Virtual Commissioning can identify and resolve energy inefficiencies, leading to real savings and better performance. Another success story in optimizing energy systems and improving sustainability! #wastenotwednesday #energyefficiency #poweredbypeople #VirtualCommissioning #sustainability #decarbonization

? An Energy Savings Blessing Haley Richards recently worked with a combined church and school building in Illinois as part of our Virtual Commissioning? program—and the results were truly heavenly. The challenge? A building with constant energy usage, even when it was unoccupied—something that can be quite the drain for both places of worship and learning. ???? Thanks to Hayley’s persistence and our powerful data analytics, we were able to identify the issue and help the organization tune up their HVAC scheduling. Previously, the system ran constantly: day and night, weekday and weekend.? By implementing an occupancy schedule on their new contract system, the building is now only using energy when it’s truly needed—saving both energy and extending the life of their equipment. ? And the results? ? Forecasted savings: 8% of their annual electricity usage ?? Cost reduction: ~$12,000 in annual energy bills The dotted lines show their energy consumption before the changes, while the solid lines and shaded area reveal the impact after. Another shining example of how data-driven solutions and collaboration can make a miracle happen. #wastenotwednesday #poweredbypeople #energyefficiency #decarbonization

?? What does success look like in energy management? Look no further than the work Jeffrey Shackelford, a Power TakeOff vSEM coach, has done with this Connecticut manufacturer—a great example of the impact our Virtual Strategic Energy Management? program can have! In a facility with minimal automated controls, the journey to save energy began with some healthy skepticism. But after a simple Labor Day weekend employee engagement activity that Jeff facilitated, everything changed. The once-skeptical facility engineer is now an Energy Team Leader, spearheading creative ways to cut waste and embed energy management into daily operations. Collaboration has skyrocketed, with ideas flowing constantly to improve efficiency. And the results? ? Forecasted savings: 17% of their annual electricity usage ?? Cost reduction: ~$72,000 in annual energy bills The dotted lines show their energy consumption before the changes, while the solid lines and shaded area reveal the impact after. This story shows how teamwork, creativity, and a shift in mindset can drive real impact. Here’s to pushing the boundaries of energy efficiency—together! #wastenotwednesday #poweredbypeople #energyefficiency #decarbonization

#WasteNotWednesday Series Post Shoutout to our former Power TakeOff Energy Advisor, now Team Lead, Isaac Winterfeld, who spotted this opportunity as part of our Virtual Commissioning? program!? Isaac worked with a non-profit foster care building in Washington state—a facility with a tight budget and even tighter energy needs. By remotely fine-tuning their HVAC system to optimize cycling, he helped them achieve incredible results: ? Forecasted savings: 27% of their annual electricity usage ?? Cost reduction: ~$7,000 in annual energy bills What makes this even more impressive? Isaac did it all remotely—without ever setting foot in the building. Now that’s the power of data-driven efficiency and collaboration. #wastenotwednesday #poweredbypeople #energyefficiency #decarbonization
