🌱 Massachusetts has the potential to lead the nation in climatetech—but only if we invest in the infrastructure and workforce to get us there. At PowerOptions, we’ve joined 53 businesses and institutions in urging the Massachusetts Legislature to fully fund the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) in the FY26 state budget. MassCEC plays a vital role in growing our clean energy economy, training the next generation of workers, and driving technical innovation across the Commonwealth. With proper funding, it can continue to support communities, lower decarbonization costs, and accelerate our path to net-zero. As the largest energy consortium for nonprofits and public entities in New England, we know that MassCEC’s programs are essential to an equitable and affordable clean energy transition. 📝 Read the full letter and join the call to action: https://bit.ly/3EhcKQ0 #CleanEnergy #ClimateTech #GreenWorkforce #CleanEnergyEconomy #MAPoli #MassLeadsAct

On Monday, March 10, the Healey-Driscoll Administration announced a comprehensive energy plan to provide immediate financial relief to Massachusetts residents while prioritizing clean and efficient energy as a long-term solution to affordability. Starting in April, every residential electric customer served by Eversource, National Grid, and Unitil will receive: ✅ $50 bill credits in April for all residential electric customers of Eversource, National Grid, and Unitil—over $125 million in relief! ✅ 10% bill reduction for residential natural gas customers of Eversource, National Grid, Unitil, Liberty, and Berkshire Gas in March & April—saving over $95 million! ✅ $2.9 billion in total savings for residential customers over the next five years through affordability measures in collaboration with energy utilities. The administration also continues to highlight the array of #cleanenergy and #energyefficiency programs the state has to offer, including: • MassSave Energy Efficiency Programs – Can help customers save up to 20% on energy use. • Heat Pump Savings – Unitil residential customers can save up to $500 per year, with National Grid offering a similar program starting in September. • EV Managed Charging Program – National Grid customers who enroll can reduce their bill by $100 in the first year. • ConnectedSolutions Program – Customers with demand response capabilities can receive additional financial incentives. • Moderate-Income Discount Rate – The DPU is working on a statewide discount for moderate-income customers across all electric utilities to provide further relief. PowerOptions commends the Healey-Driscoll Administration for its commitment to improving #energyaffordability while staying true to its promise of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. By harnessing the power of clean and efficient energy, Massachusetts can move toward greater energy independence, minimizing exposure to price volatility like the spikes seen this winter, directly aligning with PowerOptions' mission to lower both the cost and carbon of energy across New England.
