Another record week for #renewables in Texas! ?Texas renewable #energy broke ERCOT’s maximum renewables record on Tuesday, March 18th, with 39,946 MW of energy on the grid. ?Texas #solar energy set a NEW RECORD on Thursday, March 20th, with 26,321 MW of energy and meeting 56% of demand on the Texas grid. ??AND on Monday, March 24th, Texas #batteryenergystorage supplied 5,593 MW of power to the #Texas grid at 7:40 PM. This broke ERCOT records for both maximum MW of #power storage being supplied to the grid and largest percent of the grid being powered by energy storage!

These are the stories that matter. Thank you to Mr. Taylor for sharing your experience and contributing to Texas' growing energy landscape.
Wayne Taylor of Lynn County, Texas, a dedicated participant in the USDA’s Conservation Reserve Program, is taking his legacy further through a partnership with ?rsted. Hosting wind turbines on his farmland has provided him with a steady income to grow his business, while helping to provide more energy to Texans. Great news from Power Up Texas member Starr County Industrial Foundation! “Renewable energy projects like these help strengthen Texas’ energy security and boost our local economy by supporting domestic supply chains, and promoting environmental stewardship. As we celebrate the launch of this initiative, we are reminded of the collective efforts necessary to build a brighter future for the residents of Starr County,” said Rose Benavidez, President of SCIF. https://lnkd.in/dCna4XWv

?RECORD DAY? March 10th was a huge day for renewable energy in Texas with wind, solar, and nuclear producing roughly 75% of demand in ERCOT. For the first time ever, solar generated over 25,000 MW of energy for the Texas grid, hitting 25,015 MW at 11:40 AM. Later in the day, Texas set a record for battery storage power with 4,955 MW of power going to the Texas grid at 7:20. At the same time, battery storage energy accounted for 10.3% of load in ERCOT, setting a record for maximum battery discharge to load ratio.

"No amount of power generation will make a meaningful difference if we cannot efficiently deliver electricity to where it is needed. The inability to provide affordable and reliable power is a serious issue, costing Texas ratepayers billions of dollars each year... This effort comes at a critical time. Last spring, ERCOT estimated that Texas’ power needs will nearly double by 2030. To meet those demands, the state’s transmission system — composed of the tall towers and long-haul lines responsible for delivering electricity from power plants to local utilities — must be modernized and expanded." - Justin Holland https://lnkd.in/gWJSn6aq #texasenergy #transmission #generation #renewableenergy
