And just like that, my 2024 event season is over?? Last Thursday, my (and Planwell's) final event of the year went off without a hitch! I helped Powderkeg execute one of their quarterly leadership summits right in my own backyard?? Their venue, Turntable, run by Forty5 was so unique. Normally it's used for live music performances. I loved the challenge it was to work with a non-corporate space and make it work perfectly for our needs. From innovative content, to unique sponsor activations, to a signature mocktail??, Powderkeg killed this event. Special shoutout to Meg Yothment for being my partner in planning???? And of, course to Alex Adkins, Michael Adkins, and Maddie Malatestinic for helping with set-up! Now, I rest?? Well sort of... first event in 2025 is only the second week of January!

Learn smarter, not harder. 3 steps to review like a Navy SEAL: When reviewing a project, meeting, or event, most people dive straight into what went wrong. But SEALs approach it differently, focusing first on what went right—and they’ve seen powerful results. Here’s how to apply their AAR (After Action Review) process to drive breakthrough growth: ——— 1. Start with the positives: ? Ask, “What did we learn from what went well?” ? Reinforce what works, so you can repeat it ——— 2. Reframe the negatives: ? Ask, “What did we learn from what didn’t go well?” ? Focus on insights, not just mistakes ——— 3. Set new standards: ? Ask, “What process changes can we make?” ? Build a culture of excellence by refining your approach ——— To get the most out of an AAR, have each team member complete the questions in writing 24 hours before the meeting.
