Congratulations to Save The Bay for completing their open board search! We were proud to partner with this significant organization making an impact. Another great success in a growing movement to open up the way we look for new board members to help nonprofits serve their communities.
Thanks to guidance from the @Potrero Group, Save The Bay successfully completed a comprehensive public board search. We’re proud to introduce six new board members who bring diverse perspectives and deep community connections to our work! We'll be spotlighting our new board members over the coming weeks. First up is Joy Leilei Shih-Casado: Joy is an ocean conservationist whose research focuses on coral reefs in French Polynesia, Hawai?i, and the Florida Keys, as well as invasive species, symbionts, and microbial nutrient cycling. She works actively on plastic pollution policy at the local, state, and national levels. A master, resuce, and scientific diver, Joy enjoys freediving and hiking with her three dogs and family in her free time. ?? Favorite native plant or animal: Red-tailed hawk ?? Favorite thing to do around the Bay Area: Night hiking when there’s a meteor shower or a comet in the sky ?? Superpower: The ability to shape-shift, so that I could soar like an eagle and dive like a Cuvier’s beaked whale
