I’m excited to share a big job change! I will be joining the Amah Mutsun Land Trust (AMLT) as their new Executive Director,?starting in April. With so much at stake for?our land and communities, I am honored to support AMLT’s mission to restore Indigenous knowledge and practices. I look forward to working in partnership with the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, conservation allies, and the broader community to restore sacred relationships between people and place. Below is a picture of me with Chairman Valentin Lopez from last week. My last day at POST will be April 4th, marking exactly 20 years since I first joined this incredible organization. It’s hard to put into words what these past two decades have meant to me. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such a dedicated team to protect and restore the landscapes that make this region so special. The partnerships, friendships, and shared successes have been truly inspiring, and I will always carry this experience with me. I’m looking forward to this next chapter and excited to collaborate?with many of you in new ways!

Thanks to guidance from the @Potrero Group, Save The Bay successfully completed a comprehensive public board search. We’re proud to introduce six new board members who bring diverse perspectives and deep community connections to our work! We'll be spotlighting our new board members over the coming weeks. First up is Joy Leilei Shih-Casado: Joy is an ocean conservationist whose research focuses on coral reefs in French Polynesia, Hawai?i, and the Florida Keys, as well as invasive species, symbionts, and microbial nutrient cycling. She works actively on plastic pollution policy at the local, state, and national levels. A master, resuce, and scientific diver, Joy enjoys freediving and hiking with her three dogs and family in her free time. ?? Favorite native plant or animal: Red-tailed hawk ?? Favorite thing to do around the Bay Area: Night hiking when there’s a meteor shower or a comet in the sky ?? Superpower: The ability to shape-shift, so that I could soar like an eagle and dive like a Cuvier’s beaked whale
