Proof that you're never too young (too small, too old, or not experienced enough…) to make a difference. In March, I was invited to speak at Jamestown Elementary School about the Potomac Watershed as part of my work with the Potomac Conservancy. Well, know what these kids did with their knowledge and passion for our planet? They entered the Caring for Our Watershed Chesapeake Bay Competition – an #environmental action challenge – and WON! ?? The 5th?grade teams came in 1st?and 4th?place ?? . Their proposals won against High School and Middle School teams. They presented at the Student Environmental Showcase and received funding for their projects to protect the #ChesapeakeBay. This week, I received an envelope stuffed full of Thank You cards from the students for helping inspire and inform their proposals. I was touched but it is US that should thank THEM. These students are the inspiration and our future. And proof that no matter how young, you can make a positive impact. ?? #conservation #environmentalaction #watershed
