关于我们

Postpartum Support International (PSI) was founded in 1987 by Jane Honikman. The purpose of the organization is to increase awareness among public and professional communities about the emotional changes that individuals and families experience during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. PSI has members all over the world, including volunteer coordinators in every one of the United States and in 50+ countries. PSI disseminates information and resources through its volunteer coordinators, website, DVD, and annual conference. Its goal is to provide current information, resources, education, and to advocate for further research and legislation to support perinatal mental health.

  • "I felt like I had to be the ONLY one to take everything on. Feedings, baths, diapers, laundry etc. Like I said, I had a very hands on village but my PPD made it seem like I was the one and only one who could mother my baby. The amount of guilt I had for not feeling like a 'mother' ate me alive...It took 22 months for me to start to feel a little bit like Kristen again. It is still a work in progress. I am now pregnant expecting my second daughter in the summer. I am staying on Wellbutrin this pregnancy and advocating for myself. Although I cannot predict how your hormones will treat you, I can promise you that you are not alone. The feeling you feel before an after birth are valid. Do not give up on yourself." - Kristen Marx Kristen is a Nestle Health Sciences employee, and she is going to continue spreading the word to fellow Nestle Health Sciences employees about PSI Services. You are not alone, you are not to blame, and with help, you WILL be well. If you need help or support: ?? Call or text the Postpartum Support International HelpLine at 800-944-4773. • ?? "As a clinical psychologist, certified perinatal mental health provider, and new mama, I have put together an easy-to-remember acronym that includes the most useful tools for you, as a caregiver: CARE: Compassionate, Acts, Reinforced, Every day." — Dr. Madison Randolph PsyD, PMH-C. The responsibilities associated with caring for a baby can feel overwhelming and daunting. In this blog, we’ll walk you through: ?? Filling up your cup ?? Mindfulness ?? Exercise ?? Socializing ?? Self-care activity ?? Psychotherapy Many caregivers may feel guilty taking time away to do something for themselves. However, challenging that voice in your head is vital in making sure you are caring not only for those around you but also for yourself. It is not selfish or wrong to take intentional time to take care of YOU! In fact, it is essential. ?? Read full blog: https://loom.ly/-AGhIOk

  • ?? Dysphoric Milk Ejection Reflex (D-MER) is a condition that causes undesirable feelings right before a release of milk, which is commonly (and here, rather ironically) known as a “let down.” ?? These feelings generally occur along a spectrum of three different emotions – depression, anxiety, and anger. In this blog, we’ll walk you through: ?? How it’s Experienced ?? Occurrence ?? Cause ?? Management and Treatment ??Parents with D-MER can understandably start to dread breastfeeding. They may say, “I just didn’t like breastfeeding,” without ever understanding that there was a physical reason.? ?? Remember you are not alone, having D-MER doesn’t make you a “bad parent,” and most importantly, help is available.” — Sharon Berger, IBCLC, RN ?? Read full blog: https://loom.ly/FRNXwN0
