Positively Groundfish is a new kind of non-profit trade association. We unite a broad set of stakeholders of the West Coast groundfish fishery - fishermen, fish processors, environmental advocates, certifiers, academic researchers and state agencies - behind a shared goal: to make consumers fall in love with rockfish and sole from the West Coast.
Positively Groundfish’s mission is to tell the positive story of sustainable West Coast Groundfish to cultivate consumer appreciation, improve market differentiation and support the long-term economic success of our local fishing industry and communities. We hope to contribute to a West Coast groundfish fishery that is at once ecologically abundant, economically attractive and widely appreciated by the market.

We just got back from our very first time at the Food & Nutrition Expo. We had a fantastic time there engaging with nutritionists and dietitians (this is our crowd!) They get it immediately - these species are nutritional powerhouses and should be incorporated into our diets much more frequently. ??

?? Big News from Positively Groundfish! ?? We're excited to announce Shadae Zamyad, MS as the newest addition to our team, stepping into the role of Health & Nutrition Program Manager! Shadae will be leading the charge to spread the word about the amazing nutritional properties of our sustainable groundfish species. ?? Shadae is the ideal person to take on this challenge: She is a seasoned nutritionist with a decade of experience in both clinical and non-clinical settings. She's also a classically trained chef, and she has marketing experience working for Nutri-bullet and a new food-as-medicine meal delivery service. A nutritionist, a chef and a marketeer all in one person. ?? Let's give a warm welcome to Shadae as she embarks on this exciting journey with us! ??
