A HUGE thank you to our friends at OGE Energy Corp. for bringing an unforgettable amount of fun and learning to Spring Break Camp! Thanks to their generous grant, our students are having an incredible week filled with joy, discovery, and hands-on experiences. Yesterday, the OG&E team also brought the fun straight to our students when we got to: ?? Get up close with a real bucket truck and meet OG&E linemen ?? Tour the OG&E ThunderBolt for an interactive, Thunder-themed experience to learn about energy efficiency ???? Move and groove with the OG&E team during a high-energy, glow-in-the-dark dance party with a live DJ ?? Learn all about monarchs and pollination from the Monarch Society A special shoutout to OG&E’s New Member Resource Group for making sure our students had food bags to cover the days they aren’t at break camp. OG&E, your support helps create bright futures for our students, and we’re so grateful for your partnership! ????

Partnering with families experiencing homelessness to educate their children and create pathways to success
关于我们
Positive Tomorrows is Oklahoma’s only tuition-free private school specifically for children and families experiencing homelessness. More than 100 students in Early Head Start through 7th Grade attend Positive Tomorrows each year, where they receive education while their families are supported in their path to create a better life. We help by meeting basic needs of our children and removing barriers to learning, and by supporting families so they can increase their income, employment, and housing. In reality, we provide something much greater than the sum of our programs – we give hope today, along with the promise for a better tomorrow.

Our students hosted a special Living History Museum today in honor of Black History Month! From scientists and artists to athletes and civil rights heroes, they highlighted some of the achievements and legacies that continue to inspire us all.

When winter weather hits, we do everything we can to keep our doors open, because virtual learning isn’t an option for our families. When closures are unavoidable, the impact is immediate. Disruptions like a school closure are hard on even the most resourced among us. Unexpected hurdles hit families working to overcome homelessness even harder. When students aren’t in school, everything comes to a halt. Parents can’t go to work or continue an employment search. Extended school closures can cause a family to be stuck in a holding pattern, unable to go where they need to go to reach success. While our building may be closed, our team is still connecting with our school community. When closing, each family is informed by their Positive Tomorrows case manager who ensures families are safe, with access to necessities like heat and food. Meeting individual needs is our first priority during an unexpected disruption to our schedule. YOU CAN HELP - The best way to help right now is through financial support. Monthly donations make it possible for us to respond to the immediate needs of our students and families year-round. Donations can be made now at https://lnkd.in/g2janzg8
