That’s a wrap on PoshFest 2024! A huge thank you everyone who made this year’s event one to remember. Over 600 secondhand fashion lovers from across the U.S. and Canada gathered in Nashville for Poshmark’s biggest event of the year, leaving with countless memories, new connections, and skills to take their sales to the next level. Both days were jam-packed with informative sessions, photo-worthy activations, and endless networking opportunities. Sharing some highlights below! ?? During the State of the Posh Union, our Founder/CEO Manish Chandra celebrated the community’s accomplishments over the past year before setting the stage for what’s next for Poshmark ?? Poshmark’s product and engineering teams held the annual Hackathon reveal, offering attendees a first look at exciting new, highly-requested features like Listing Streaks, Posh Shows Giveaways, Listing Templates, and more ?? Superstar Posh Ambassadors took the mainstage both days, with panels dedicated to sharing stories about finding community and achieving economic empowerment through resale ?? Sellers facilitated hands-on workshops and activities, including an interactive upcycling workshop on how to revamp secondhand denim into statement-making pieces ? Industry speakers from Meta, Beni, and U.S. Small Business Administration led informative sessions educating sellers about external tools to grow their businesses Want to catch up on the action? We were honored to have Pete Huang, AI futurist and newsletter writer of The Neuron - AI News, lead a company-wide discussion around generative AI. ?? Team Posh learned more about the technology, including fun modern-day consumer applications, like interactive journaling prompts and wardrobe styling recommendations, before launching into possibilities for the future. Pete shared that as AI continues to evolve, virtual and IRL experiences that facilitate community-building and connection will be even more crucial — a sentiment that we share. Summer wedding season is here, and Poshmark is seeing a rise in brides and wedding guests saying "I Do" to secondhand bridal style. ?? Daily Mail spoke with three brides and bridesmaids who shopped for wedding outfits on Poshmark. ? Emily (@emilyevans171) bought pieces for her bridal celebrations on Poshmark as her "something borrowed", including a SELF-PORTRAIT engagement party dress, an Outdoor Voices bachelorette outfit, and a Retrofête dress for late-night dancing. ? Daniella (@daniella12345) found the exact dress the bride requested for all her bridesmaids: a Show Me Your Mumu dress in the champagne color, already perfectly hemmed to Daniella's height. ? Victoria (@vicmarcant) is selling most of the dresses that she wore for her wedding related events, including a Carolina Herrera mini dress, and recommends resale for others. Earlier this week, our Chief Marketing Officer, Steven Tristan Young, had the opportunity to speak to defining trends in social commerce at NRF Nexus, including how Poshmark is betting big that live shopping will shape the next generation of social shopping experiences. Both sellers and shoppers are loving this authentic, interactive way to connect and find inspiration on the platform, with sellers hosting over 1 million shows, and shoppers tuning in for over 1 billion minutes. What an inspiring #PrideMonth we had at Poshmark celebrating our diverse community. A highlight was our fireside chat with LGBTQ activist Chella Man, who shared their profound insights on living authentically: "Behind all the labels, we have our own energy and [our] own personhood... We all know ourselves. However, the way society sets things up for us, unfortunately, makes everyone somewhat the same. Instead [we should] tell everyone to love themselves and their own characteristics for who they are, because that really is so beautiful." When Manish Chandra and his co-founders set out to build Poshmark in 2011, they shared a vision to reinvent how people buy and sell fashion: "it's going to be social, it's going to be something anyone can use, and it's going to be mobile." Faced with the task of recalibrating consumer behavior to embrace mobile-first shopping and selling, Poshmark's founders identified a solution: in-person events. "Posh Parties" gathered fashion lovers and aspiring resellers across the country to take photos, create listings, and make sales IRL — helping to educate consumers about this new way to shop and sell, provide a touchpoint for early customer feedback, and serve as proof of concept for investors. Over a decade later, in-person events remain a critical part of Poshmark's success: providing a space for Poshmark's community of 130M+ people to come together and learn from one another.
