Inserting the cork Inserting the cork isn’t just a step—it’s a science. From the bottleneck to the cellar, every step matters. Ensure the best preservation and wine quality by following these key guidelines: ? Compress the cork to no less than 15.5 mm ? Leave the cork ± 0.5 mm from the top of the bottleneck ? Keep the inside of the bottleneck free from moisture for a perfect seal ?Bottling should be done at an ambient temperature of between 15oC and 20oC ? The headspace should be, at least, of 15 mm, at 20oC ? Use vacuum bottling or CO2 flushing to eliminate internal pressures ? Check corks regularly for edges, folds, or indentations that can be caused by the jaws. Because the perfect bottling starts with the right practices. Curious about the next step in the checklist?
