Porter-Starke Services recently partnered with local law enforcement to bring vital Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training to first responders. This evidence-based training equips law enforcement with the skills to effectively respond to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis and can safely support those in crisis with the proper care and treatment. ? Officers and social workers from the Porter County Sheriff’s Office and other area police departments attended this week-long training, which included educational sessions led by our team members and tours of Porter-Starke Services facilities as well as other community mental health agencies.

Congratulations to Britni Novina, who recently received the Star Leadership award from the Tobacco Education & Prevention Coalition for Porter County (TEPCPC)! As Clinical Care Coordinator for our Inpatient Care Center, she has supported and encouraged many of our clients to quit tobacco by referring them to Quit Now Indiana. If you’re interested in tobacco cessation services, talk with your Porter-Starke Services provider. Many of our team members are trained Tobacco Treatment Specialists and we can help!
