Had a great time last week with my fellow Anne Arundel RUN Board members at the United Way of Central Maryland Women's Forum, learning about the challenges and opportunities facing families, particularly working women, when it comes to childcare. We heard from UWCM CEO Franklyn Baker, Secretary Tisha Edwards, MSW, JD and First Lady Dawn Flythe Moore, Kendra Rice Parlock led a conversation with Moms First and Girls Who Code founder Reshma Saujani and spent some times touring Port Discovery Children's Museum. ?? We're thrilled to announce our our newest exhibit where engineering meets imagination—Blocktopia! ??? Opening this fall, Blocktopia is more than just fun—it’s a space designed to ignite imaginations and nurture young engineers. Through hands-on activities like building towering structures and navigating intricate mazes, kids explore the science of play, learning about shapes, symmetry, and spatial reasoning. This amazing blue block exhibit is inspired by the Imagination Playground. This exhibit highlights the importance of play in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. And this is just the start—Blocktopia sets the stage for our upcoming Galactic Builders exhibit in Fall 2025. Make sure to check back in when we have our official opening this fall!
