关于我们
With our three airports, four marine terminals, five business parks, and hundreds of employees, we’re an economic engine for transforming our region into a place where everyone is welcome, empowered, and connected to the opportunity to find a good job or grow their business. Our job is to pull down barriers and connect people and local businesses who have been left out of the region’s economic growth – including people of color, low-income workers, and people with disabilities – to powerful opportunities. Using our resources, expertise, and influence, we create jobs, help locally owned businesses grow, and help attract more quality employers to the state. The power behind the Port? Our people. Join the team and help drive meaningful change for everyone who lives and works here.

Oregon’s economy depends on global trade, and right now, collaboration is more important than ever. Sponsored by State Representative @Daniel Nguyen, House Bill 3100 brings the Port, state agencies, and local businesses together to build a unified trade strategy. Small and medium-sized businesses make up 88% of Oregon’s exporting companies. As the Port of Portland’s chief trade and economic development officer, Kimberly Branam, put it, “Maintaining and growing Oregon’s traded sector is a team sport. House Bill 3100 ups our collaboration at a critical stage. Impacts from increased tariffs and retaliatory measures could be significant. Complex times call for different approaches.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/gNXqBfP6

Much like the maps at Council Crest or Powell Butte, we have new mezzanine maps in the main terminal highlighting 16 forests—nonprofit, community, tribal-owned, and family-run—that supplied wood for our roof, shops, and floors. Down on the ground level, you’ll also find 14 round wooden markers, each revealing which forest a specific patch of wood came from. ? Spot a marker near security? Look up! Those Doug fir beams above you came from the Coquille Indian Tribe. Wandering by the heart of the terminal? The Douglas fir lattice nearby came from the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians. Every piece has a story, and now you can see exactly where it began. ? Portland artist Carson Ellis designed both the maps and markers, weaving in imagery and words shared by our four Northwest tribal partners. ? So next time you're exploring the terminal, keep an eye out for these little wooden stories. They’ll take you on a journey across the Northwest—no hiking boots required. ------ Yakama Forest Products, Sustainable Northwest, Sustainable Northwest Wood Inc, Skokomish Indian Tribe, ZGF Architects, Zena Forest Products, Timberlab, The Nature Conservancy in Oregon, The Nature Conservancy in Washington

The snow may be gone, but our gratitude is still going strong! From pre-treating runways and plowing through the night to keeping terminals running smoothly, our PDX crews and partners worked their magic during our recent winter weather. Huge thanks to Maintenance, Airport Ops, Port Police, Fire & Rescue, and so many more behind-the-scenes heroes who made travel possible.
