The Port purchased nearly 200 homes from an out-of-town investor last month with one goal - creating affordable homeownership opportunities. The Wall Street Journal shares the story of how institutional investors are buying up larger shares of the residential real estate market for high-priced rentals, and how The Port is taking ownership for residents. #affordablehousing #ThePortImpact https://on.wsj.com/3rnNehw

The Port was delighted to celebrate Emerge Manufacturing's ribbon cutting on Friday Morning. After demolishing the old Cincinnati Gardens in 2018, The Port created three development-ready parcels on the site to attract the greatest investment to reignite Cincinnati’s history as a Midwest manufacturing hub. The ribbon cutting celebrated Emerge's production of PPE, bringing nearly 100 jobs to Bond Hill and Roselawn and economic stimulus to Hamilton County, while minimizing our region’s reliance on offshore resources for life-saving supplies and equipment. Congratulations to CEO Cynthia Booth for her vision! #cincinnati #ppe #manufacturinghub #ribboncutting #hamiltoncounty

A barrel of laughs? A barrel of fun? Unfortunately, that’s not what was being stored in the barrels left behind at this property at 2452 Beekman. Instead, a previous occupant left behind drums of hazardous materials like acids, used oils, caustics, and detergents. Fortunately, with the support of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Ohio EPA, our team quickly and safely removed these materials. This project is a great example of The Port’s commitment to greener and cleaner communities, and highlights the partnerships involved in securing, assessing, and eliminating potentially unsafe and hazardous conditions from former vacant industrial buildings in our community.
