Landau is proud to partner with the Port of Everett on an inspiring story of the revitalization and redevelopment along the waterfront in Everett! Landau and the Port of Everett teamed up to complete a comprehensive, innovative cleanup program between 2006 and 2021 across 65-acres to remove historical industrial contamination and to facilitate an extensive redevelopment effort. The Port will leverage an expected $1 billion in public/private investment to redevelop and reimagine its waterfront in a way that embraces and pays tribute to Everett’s rich history and industry. ? Read all about it in the Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce special section on Waterfront Redevelopment. https://lnkd.in/g-pfMa6k ? Thank you to the Port of Everett for the long-tenured relationship and continued partnership! #waterfrontreimagined #economicdevelopment #environmentalcleanup?

Port of Everett Commission Adopts $73.2 Million 2025 Budget The Port of Everett Commission has adopted a $73.2 million 2025 operating and capital budget that continues to implement the Port’s Strategic Plan and overall vision of a vibrant and balanced working waterfront. The Port’s 2025 budget and financing plan considers anticipated financial implications resulting from current economic factors, including interest rates and trade markets. It also positions the Port to address the significant opportunities before it to support economic development and jobs, while being mindful of the needs of current operations. The budget includes a one-year operating and capital budget, and a five-year capital budget forecast and funding plan. It sets the financial framework for the Port to continue to deliver a balanced waterfront and economic portfolio that supports and enhances regional maritime assets and commerce at the urban deep-water Seaport and brings new mixed-use amenities to the destination waterfront. The plan includes 31 projects, 29 of which are included in 2025 to advance the Port’s Strategic Initiatives. The capital plan places high emphasis on greening the Seaport, continuing to build out destination retail and restaurants at Waterfront Place, recapitalizing and upgrading Marina facilities, exploring economic development opportunities in the Port District, including redevelopment efforts at the Mukilteo waterfront, and continuing to address legacy contamination at the waterfront through environmental cleanups. These initiatives have been adopted by the Port Commission and influence the long-term financing, as well as allocation of staff resources. The 2025 budget assumes uses of funds consisting of $45.6 million in operating/non-operating expenditures, combined with $27.6 million in capital investment. The budget provides funds to operate and manage a full-service international seaport, the largest public marina on the West Coast and nearly 3,300 acres of property. The Port Commission held numerous public meetings to discuss the budget and opened a formal public hearing at its Commission meeting on Nov. 5, 2024. The public hearing included a week-long public comment period, prior to budget adoption at the Special Port Commission meeting on Nov. 13, 2024. No public comments were received during the public hearing. Learn more @ www.portofeverett.com/news

Washington is home to the finest aerospace workers in the world, and with the resolution of Boeing’s contract agreement with the Machinists IAM 751, the Port of Everett is excited to announce the first Boeing container move since the strike began. The Port’s support of Boeing makes Everett the 5th largest customs district by value on the West Coast and supports nearly $21 BILLION worth of U.S. exports annually. The Port serves as an extension of the aerospace manufacturing process, accommodating all of the oversized aerospace parts for the 767, 777, 777X and soon to be 737 Max Line in Everett. We also bring in the military parts for the K-C Tanker programs and Air Force One. An important provision secured by the IAM members is Boeing’s commitment to building the next airplane in the Puget Sound, which is great news for our community and the future of airplane manufacturing in Everett! #GoBigGoEverett #PortofEverett #Jobs

Port of Everett Seaport Named 2024 Heavy Lift Port/Terminal Operator of the Year? The Port of Everett Seaport has been honored with the prestigious title of 2024 Port/Terminal Operator of the Year by Heavy Lift & Project Forwarding International magazine. Recent maritime investments, quality customer service, high environmental standards, and a strong commitment to handling heavy lift and project cargoes safely and efficiently were among key factors in the Port of Everett earning this top honor. The Port of Everett Seaport is the third largest container port in Washington state, and is the region’s premier breakbulk cargo facility for its niche in handling high-value, conventional and overdimensional cargoes in support of the aerospace, manufacturing, military, construction, agriculture and energy industries. Most notably, the Port serves as an extension of the regional aerospace manufacturing process, handling all of the oversized aerospace parts for the 767, 777, 777X and K-C Tanker programs. ? Over the past decade, the Port has invested more than $150 million to modernize and green its facilities to further support local aerospace logistics, expand cargo opportunities and provide flexible infrastructure to support industry and emerging project cargo. Most recently, the Port opened its new 40-acre Norton Terminal in 2022. This marked the first all-new cargo terminal to open on the West Coast in more than a decade, adding critical cargo capacity to the national freight network to enhance movement of commerce throughout the global supply chain. The $40 million investment completed environmental cleanup and redevelopment of the former Kimberly-Clark mill site into a maritime hub that today supports 950 jobs. The investment removed more than 250,000 tons of legacy contamination and installed a 9-inch-thick pavement cap that provides environmental controls and the site’s first ever stormwater treatment to keep our waters clean into the future. Norton Terminal nearly doubled the Port’s cargo-handling footprint and fully realized the Port’s previous $57 million investment in its South Terminal modernization that added another full-service berth in Everett in 2021. That project strengthened an underutilized wharf, added infrastructure for shorepower, and added two, 100-foot-gauge gantry cranes to support aerospace logistics, handle heavier cargoes and facilitate cargo diversification. The Port of Everett has been a shortlist candidate in the Port/Terminal Operator of the Year award category for the past five years, earning highly commended in the category in 2022.
