We’re rocking into November with heavy cargo!? ? The Port of Brownsville received 31,000 metric tons of armor stones aboard the M/V Poland Pearl from the Bahamas. Unloaded by DIX Shipping, the stones will be used for stabilizing dredge placement areas at the port. This is part of the Brazos Island Harbor Channel deepening project, which will deepen the Brownsville Ship Channel from 42 feet to 52 feet. The BIH project will improve navigation safety and further increase the port’s capabilities, allowing existing industries in the Rio Grande Valley to continue expanding while attracting new economic opportunities for the region. #PortAbilities #RockSolidProgress #BIHDeepening #ThePortThatWorks

The Port of Brownsville Administration Office and Permit Office will be closed Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, in observance of Veterans Day. Both offices will reopen Tuesday, Nov. 12, at regular hours of operation. All three gates will remain open. Vessel activity will not be interrupted. La Oficina de Administración y la Oficina de Permisos del Puerto de Brownsville cerrarán el lunes 11 de noviembre de 2024, en observación del Día de los Veteranos. Ambas oficinas reabrirán el martes 12, en su horario regular. Las tres entradas al puerto permanecerán abiertas durante el día feriado. La actividad naviera no se verá afectada.
