As part of Texas Ports Day, hosted by the Texas Ports Association, the Port of Beaumont visited Austin to advocate for maritime infrastructure funding and share the important role Texas ports play in their local, state, and national economies. Ranked as the 8th largest economy in the world and the top exporting state in the U.S., Texas owes much of its success to its maritime ports. These ports: ? Generate 28% of the state's GDP ? Congratulations to our new board officers: President Dr. David Willard, Vice President Louis Broussard, and Secretary-Treasurer LaRue Smith.
