As part of Texas Ports Day, hosted by the Texas Ports Association, the Port of Beaumont visited Austin to advocate for maritime infrastructure funding and share the important role Texas ports play in their local, state, and national economies. Did you know: - Activity at Texas seaports accounts for 28% of the GSP, or $713 billion - 2.5 million jobs are supported by Texas ports - Texas ports have $9.16 billion in immediate infrastructure needs - For every $1 million invested in Texas ports, $53.46 million is returned to the state If you have an opportunity to visit Austin this session, please let your representatives know that you #supportyourports. #PropellingGrowth

Ranked as the 8th largest economy in the world and the top exporting state in the U.S., Texas owes much of its success to its maritime ports. These ports: ? Generate 28% of the state's GDP ? Provide $17 billion in tax revenue annually To continue this momentum, TXDOT is investing in the future with the Maritime Infrastructure Program. ??
