We are looking forward to the two exciting days at #FutureFoodTech and to helping customers reduce costs while reducing their GHG emissions!
?? Porifera, featured Scale-Up at #FutureFoodTech San Francisco, is revolutionizing beer sustainability with their proprietary membrane concentration technology. A life cycle analysis by Prof. Michael Martin from the IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute and?KTH Royal Institute of Technology?shows a large untapped potential for reducing emissions in the beer industry, without compromising quality or increasing costs. A soon-to-be-published study shows that delivery of Ultra High Gravity (UHG) beer can cut GHG emissions by 40% for domestic beer and 60% for imported beer. Porifera’s technology makes this possible, producing UHG beer that consumer testing and expert panels confirm is indistinguishable from the original. Beyond sustainability, UHG beer offers lower shipping costs and improved safety for bar and restaurant staff by reducing weight during transport and handling. If implemented throughout the F&B industry Porifera's concentration technology has a potential to reduce emissions by 300 million metrics tons of CO2/year, equivalent to emissions of 4.5% of all the cars in the world.
