  • In a remarkable collaboration, Population Media Center, the Embassy of Sweden Liberia, and Talking Drum Studios joined forces to launch Barnusiethedeh! (Let’s Do The Right Thing), a groundbreaking multimedia campaign aimed at igniting change in Liberia. By blending the power of storytelling with culturally resonant platforms, this partnership created a vibrant space for conversations around critical social issues such as sexual reproductive health, gender equality, and social cohesion. PMC brought its expertise in crafting engaging radio dramas, while TDS added a local touch with participatory theater performances that took the messages to the streets, directly engaging communities. With SIDA’s support, the campaign reached every corner of Liberia, creating an unprecedented level of dialogue about #familyplanning, #genderbasedviolence, and harmful practices like #FemaleGenitalMutilation (FGM). The impact has been profound, sparking reflection, conversations, and ultimately, positive action. Liberians across the country tuned in, participated, and shared their experiences, making this initiative more than just a campaign—it became a movement for change. This collaboration empowered individuals to rethink societal norms, shift attitudes, and engage in a collective effort to build a more equitable and healthy future. With the success of the Barnusiethedeh! project, PMC, SIDA, and TDS have demonstrated the transformative power of collaborative efforts in reshaping societies.
