During #COP29, the Council’s Dr. Deepshikha Sharma discussed why investing in women and girls is critical to build climate resilience during the side event, “Funding at the intersection of climate and health: Unlocking investments for women and girls to build resilience and leave no one behind,” hosted by Margaret Pyke Trust, MSI, and PSI. Dr. Sharma highlighted results from studies that examined the nexus between climate change, mental health and young people; sexual and reproductive health; migration and how women and girls were impacted more in each case.
