Poppy Bank recently attended the North Bay Business Journal’s Economic Outlook Summit at Sonoma State University. It was an honor to hear from innovative panelists such as, Dr. Carl Dietrich, Founder & CEO of Jump Aero Incorporated, Hector Saldívar, Founder and Owner of Tia Lupita, and Sara Wyman, Founder & CEO of Stackpack as they discussed their personal experiences navigating entrepreneurship in the North Bay. Dr. Robert Eyler provided incredible insight and optimism about the future of the North Bay highlighting the urgent need for our region to appeal to the younger generation. He is passionate about working with borrowers to help facilitate their commercial real estate investing needs. Scott is especially skilled at problem solving and enjoys coming up with creative solutions to help clients realize their goals. Having lived in Sonoma County for much of his life, Scott was especially proud to work on the Catholic Charities of Northwest California Caritas Village project, which supports underserved individuals with access to health and support services as well as affordable housing. He finds it incredibly rewarding to see each project he takes on evolve from concept to completion. Scott is heavily involved in the community and sits on the Board of Trustees of the Presentation School in Sonoma. Poppy Bank was proud to partner with Anova Center for Education to rebuild its campus following the devastation of the 2017 Tubbs Fire. ? For the last six years, the school was operating out of portable classrooms on the lot where the original facility had been. In October of 2023, Poppy Bank provided $15 Million in financing to help the Anova Center build a new school from the ground up. Poppy Bank also committed to donating the loan fee back to the organization, resulting in an additional contribution of $125,000.00 to support this project. ? Yesterday, the Poppy Bank team had the honor of visiting the new campus for the first time. The new building includes a beautiful library and several small classrooms for individualized learning and occupational therapy. These spaces also feature sensory elements to help the students re-regulate and prepare their minds for learning. ? President and CEO, Khalid Acheckzai, says, “Anova plays an essential role in this community, offering a comprehensive and supportive learning environment to children with autism. Poppy Bank is proud to partner with 10,000 Degrees to teach financial literacy to our youth. Over the last year, Poppy Bank employees have spent several hundred hours volunteering in the organization’s “Money Matters” workshops, which are designed to empower high school students to make informed financial decisions in college and beyond. By educating the youth about financial aid, managing expenses, creating income, and budgeting, we hope to show students that college is possible, and that with hard work and discipline, they can set their goals high and achieve them. It’s incredibly fulfilling to utilize our expertise to inspire, encourage, and equip the next generation to make a positive difference in their communities.
