?? GRANT AWARDEE SPOTLIGHT: Plain and Fancy Food LLC ?? We're excited to celebrate Evan Monaghan and Ashleigh Altemann of Plain and Fancy Food LLC as CFPE grant recipients! This craft bakery and catering service is bringing something special to Pontiac—a neighborhood café at the Webster Community Center that focuses on simple, scratch-made food sourced as locally as possible, sometimes even from their own gardens within our city. With this grant funding, they'll acquire a Square register and POS system to process orders efficiently and track sales digitally, while any remaining funds will support licensing and storage costs during renovations. But Plain and Fancy Food is about more than delicious bread and meals—it's about creating a true community space where neighbors can meet, learn, and play. They're partnering with the Pontiac SUN Time Bank, Growing Pontiac, and the Oakland History Center to host enrichment events and build stronger neighborhood connections. This is how we nurture both our local economy and our community bonds—one freshly baked loaf at a time! #PontiacProud #CommunityGrants #LocalFood #NeighborhoodConnections

?? GRANT AWARDEE SPOTLIGHT: The Fitness Hub ?? We're thrilled to announce Karema DeJesus and The Fitness Hub as one of our CFPE grant recipients! The Fitness Hub isn't just a gym—it's a boutique-style wellness sanctuary where physical workouts blend with yoga, mindfulness, and prayer to strengthen both body and spirit. This funding will help cover essential expenses including rent, marketing to increase brand visibility, and upgrading client management systems. We're proud to support Karema's vision of making The Fitness Hub the go-to wellness destination in Pontiac! When we invest in local entrepreneurs like Karema, we strengthen the fabric of our community. This is what building Pontiac together looks like! #PontiacProud #CommunityGrants #SmallBusinessSupport #WellnessForAll

When we gather as a community, magic happens! Last week, our hearts were full as we hosted the M1 Mobility Luncheon at the beautiful M1 Concourse. This special event brought together the incredible partners who work tirelessly alongside us to strengthen Pontiac. From Dream Centers to Bound Together, from McLaren to the Village of Oakland Woods - each organization represents a thread in the beautiful tapestry that is our community. We were honored to be joined by Paul and Terese Zlotoff, whose support continues to inspire our collective journey. But the true stars of the day were our dedicated drivers, whose commitment ensures that mobility remains accessible to all in our community. As we shared stories and broke bread together, we were reminded of a simple truth: when we unite our efforts, Pontiac's potential knows no bounds. The organizations represented - Oakland University, Center for Success Network, Accent Pontiac, FLEX High School, Pontiac Housing Commission, Kids Empowered on the Move, and more - each contribute uniquely to the heartbeat of our city. To every partner who attended and to those working on the ground each day - your dedication lights the path forward. This isn't just about transportation; it's about connection, opportunity, and hope. Together, we drive change. Together, we are Pontiac. #PontiacCommunityFoundation #M1Mobility #CommunityPartners #StrongerTogether #PontiacPride

Our partners at Impact Oakland and Oakland County Sheriff PAL are launching an incredible "Intro to Boxing" program for middle school youth that goes far beyond teaching athletic skills. Every Friday from March 14th through May 2nd, certified trainers will guide our young people through sessions that combine high-energy boxing with valuable life lessons. This isn't just about learning to box – it's about building confidence, discipline, and creating space for personal growth. What makes this program special? The holistic approach that includes optional faith-based discussions and mentorship opportunities. We believe in nurturing both body and spirit, helping our youth discover their inner strength. This is community in action – organizations coming together to invest in the future of Pontiac. When we create pathways for our young people to channel their energy positively, we all rise together. Registration is now open at sheriffpal.com! Sessions will be held at the UWM Sports Complex (867 South Blvd, Pontiac). Will you help us spread the word? Tag a family who might be interested! #PontiacPride #YouthEmpowerment #CommunityStrong
