Starting December 1, 2024 any business SMS traffic to U.S. carriers including Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile will be blocked if it isn’t registered through?The Campaign Registry (TCR). This means businesses that rely on SMS for things like?customer service, appointment reminders, billing notices, and important updates?will lose the ability to send these messages if they don’t register their SMS traffic in time. This is specific to A2P 10DLC numbers which refers to a system in the United States that allows businesses to send Application-to-Person (A2P) type messaging via standard 10-digit long code (10DLC) phone numbers. Pretty tough time of year to have outbound texting blocked for retail and seasonal businesses... Happy Entrepreneur's Day!! While I didn't quite live up to my originally outlined aspirations (Becoming the President of the United States, having a white sparkly limousine as my transportation, banning cigarettes forever, and planting trees everywhere - according to my 7 year old self) I'm very grateful for where I ended up... The real story behind entrepreneurship isn't in the business plans or pitch decks. It's in the moments you never saw coming—like juggling a growing business and nonprofit while being there for every important moment in your child's life, especially through family's health challenges. This year taught me that entrepreneurship pushes you beyond what you think possible. The reward? Building something from scratch alongside a passionate team, and having the freedom to never miss a moment with family. They say entrepreneurship is about taking risks. The biggest reward isn't the business success—it is about creating a life where I can be both a present parent and a passionate founder. Halpin thank you for supporting (almost) every crazy idea of mine…especially when I walked into your office this past February and said “We’re starting a professional organization called The Mid-Atlantic CX Forum "Where CX and IT Meet" and it’s going to be what we do for clients at Pontem Technology Partners, but at scale. We’re going to do what we know our clients all need, which is to bring the business and IT into the same conversations around technology strategy and delivery, and expose them to top solutions in the market providing an understanding of ‘the art of the possible’ in terms of options available to them. It’ll be a nonprofit organization so any profits after covering operating costs will be used to fund STEM projects for underserved schools in the area, and it’ll be setup to expand nationally at some point ?? so… what do you think?” ? Fast forward 8 months ?: ??We have 12 incredible advisory board members, each of whom are highly accomplished executives who have dedicated their time and resources to support this critical mission to fill a huge market gap — representing leadership perspectives from most major business units and, of course, technology ?? We have a growing community of forward-thinking leaders who believe in the power of true peer collaboration and in alignment between the business and IT ??We facilitated 2 successful quarterly summits, 3 membership happy hours, and 4 virtual roundtable discussions with a full calendar for 2025 ??We have 11 incredible trusted technology and community partners who have helped enrich, support, and validate the critical nature of bridging these gaps to drive better outcomes for customers and vendors in supporting them ?? Thinking about how lucky I am that this is what owning a business looks like for me: 1. Spending the week in discussions about our growth strategy - exciting things coming from Pontem Technology Partners! 2. ?? ?? Spending a few days onsite with a client, helping them navigate mapping “best-of-breed” technology to “best-for-THEM” technology, as they make a critical business decision in the selection of their go forward technology partner to enable strategic growth initiatives and client experience goals (one of my absolute favorite parts of my job) 3. ???? The flexibility to choose to work remotely and head to Vermont for a few days so my favorite intern can experience a place so special to my family and me in the most beautiful time of year. ???? 4.
