What a thrill to host the “Talent is Timeless” concert, which celebrates senior performers in New York City! Over 1,000 seniors aged 60 and older participated in competitions held at various older adult centers. The “Talent is Timeless 2024 Grand Finale,” hosted by the Department for the Aging (DFTA), took place on October 10 and featured 22 acts showcasing their talents in music, comedy, and dance in front of an audience of more than 1,000 people. “The acts we saw today prove that talent is, in fact, ageless” said DFTA Commissioner Lorraine Cortes-Vazquez. This event aims to celebrate the creativity of older adults and challenge ageist stereotypes. “This competition serves as a powerful testament to the fact that age is no barrier to artistic expression and cultural impact.” added Madeline V.
