I am delighted to share that our research, “The Effect of Pop-up Retailing on Customer Omnichannel Shopping: Evidence from a Quasi-Field Experiment,” has been published in the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) journal. In this article, we explore the multi-dimensional value of pop-up retailing on cross-channel sales, order fulfillment, and website browsing activities. We further evaluate whether the impact of a pop-up store is sensitive to its operational terms, including whether it is a first-time or returning “pop-up” to a market region and the duration of the store. Comparisons are also made between pop-up stores and traditional, long-term B&M stores. The findings from our study contribute to the understanding of pop-up retailing and echo the call for continued research on innovative omnichannel retail formats.
