Bésame Mucho, a major single-day Latin music festival in Los Angeles originally scheduled for next month with Shakira, Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias and Los Tigres Del Norte as headliners, has been canceled “due to circumstances beyond our control,” promoters said in a statement on social media and the event website after Rolling Stone broke the story. The festival was supposed to take place at Dodger Stadium on Dec. 21 and featured a stacked diverse lineup of artists from all genres within the Latin music umbrella. According to Rolling Stone, Shakira’s cancelation of her fall U.S. arena tour last month in favor of a stadium run in the summer of 2025 was a factor in the decision made by promoters because her dates no longer aligned with the festival, which announced its lineup back in May. Lana Del Rey will be performing in stadiums in 2025 with dates in Ireland and the United Kingdom next summer. The Live Nation-produced trek kicks off at Principality Stadium in Cardiff on June 23 with stops in Glasgow, Liverpool and Dublin before she takes the stage at Wembley Stadium in London on July 3. Del Rey is booked by CAA worldwide. She’s managed by Tap Music’s Ben Mawson. She performed at Leeds and Reading in August, as well as Boston’s Fenway Park in June. Her last reported dates to Pollstar’s Boxoffice took place during her 2023 amphitheater tour, which included dates at PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Sept. 29, 2023 (grossing $1.5 million) and MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa on Sept. 25, 2023, (grossing $1.4 million). Following the success of Charli xcx’s Brat, which became a pop culture phenomenon and coined the term “Brat Summr,” Charli xcx is bringing the album back to select arenas in the spring for the “Brat 2025 Arena Tour.” The trek comes off the heels of the pop singer’s co-headlining “Sweat Tour” alongside Troye Sivan. The “Brat 2025 Arena Tour” announced five dates including stops in Austin; Minneapolis; Rosemont, Illinois and Brooklyn, New York, from April 22 to May 1. Renowned Icelandic musician Laufey celebrated the upcoming release of her concert film, “Laufey’s A Night at the Symphony: Hollywood Bowl,” by visiting The Grove in Los Angeles for the premiere. Laufey walked down the red carpet alongside industry friends during the special event, which was held at AMC The Grove IMAX 14, and later participated in an exclusive Q&A alongside director Sam Wrench. ? The film opens in select theaters, including those with IMAX screens, worldwide on Dec. 6, and showcases the 25-year-old’s vocal talent alongside the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Perhaps it was that 2024 was an election year. Or maybe because the ridiculous and contrived social-cultural-political divide needs to be exploded. Or maybe it was because the market’s unyielding thirst for rock never dies. Whatever the reason, Green Day’s “The Saviors Tour” this past summer, featuring the band’s insurgent punk-pop-kick-out-the-hard-rock jams from their touchstone albums Dookie (celebrating its 30th anniversary) and American Idiot (celebrating its 20th) along with songs from their excellent new album, Saviors, resonated with a cross-generation of fans like never before seen. “Someone wrote to me and said, ‘I saw you in 1994 and ’98, 2004 and now I’m seeing you again with my adult children,’” the band’s Billie Joe Armstrong tells Pollstar. “That’s a beautiful thing when it becomes something like that.
