We cannot be more excited about this expansion of our Childcare for Voters program. Because of the incredible support and effort of our partners at Smart Sitting and Bumo (On-Demand Child Care), more parents will be able to access the ballot box this election.
I’m thrilled to share an initiative I’ve been working on with incredible partners to ensure?lack of childcare doesn’t stand in the way of voting on Election Day. Together, with our partners at Politisit, we’re providing childcare support across the country: - Brella (CA), Vivvi (NY), and Hopscotch Labs (NC): are offering drop-off care - Bumo (On-Demand Child Care) (CA): is contributing $10,000 for Election Day drop-off childcare - Smart Sitting:?We’re matching Bumo’s $10,000! Book a sitter in NYC, Jersey City, Hoboken, Chicago, or Philly, and we’ll cover the cost so you can vote. (And if you’re in another area, we’ll do our best to help connect you.) https://lnkd.in/gDsNYUC6 Thank you to?Chamber of Mothers?and?Allyson Felix?for amplifying this effort through #votelikeamother. If you know anyone who could benefit, please share this post or tag them. Let’s make sure childcare isn't standing in the way of mama having an opportunity to vote this Election Day!

We have hit a wonderful roadblock: there is more demand for our Childcare for Voters program than we anticipated. We’re partnering with Smart Sitting to reach more voters. Help us cover ALL the families who need a little help getting to the polls this year. ????
Smart Sitting is proud to work with an incredible organization, Politisit, to support families with drop off childcare on Election Day. We're currently syncing up with our friends at Chess at Three, Cocoon, BetaNYC, and Center for Justice Innovation who are donating their spaces for the cause, and we're looking to raise some more $$ in order to reimburse our fantastic caregiver staff and cover the cost of activities and light snacks for the kiddos. $750 will cover the cost of a full day and will support 10-15 kids (at a time, which will shift throughout the day as folks vote). If you or someone you know wants to sponsor a childcare site, you can do so here: https://lnkd.in/gCWA8djR . Let's do this!

"Caregivers often feel forgotten in the national discourse, both by politicians and by a system that fails to see how the barriers to voting — long lines, incompatible hours and a massive demand on their time to make sense of it all — are even higher for the people who already feel as if there aren’t enough hours in the day." We’re thrilled to share that Politisit has been highlighted in a recent article by Chabeli Carrazana, focusing on the vital role of caregivers and single moms in the 2024 election. As a nonprofit dedicated to empowering underrepresented voices, we believe that every individual deserves the tools and support to make their voices heard. In the article, our innovative solutions for increasing voter engagement among these key demographics are showcased. By removing the barrier of childcare, we aim to ensure that all caregivers have the opportunity to participate in shaping their communities and the future of our nation. A huge thank you to The 19th for recognizing our work! Together, let’s continue to break down barriers and build a more inclusive democracy. Check out the full article:
