*Attention! Participants Needed for Poliquicks App User Experience Study* Are you interested in helping shape the future of civic engagement technology? We're looking for 10 to 12 participants to take part in a user experience study for the Poliquicks app. About the Study: Poliquicks is a new app designed to help users stay informed and engaged with local and national politics. As part of our ongoing development process, we're conducting a user experience study to gather feedback and insights that will inform future improvements to the app. What You'll Do: During the study, you'll be asked to complete a series of tasks within the Poliquicks app, such as: -Navigating from the onboarding experience to the search functionality -Locating information about upcoming elections and your local representatives -Exploring the learning resources, particularly content related to transportation We'll observe your interactions and ask for your feedback on the overall user experience. The session should take approximately 45-60 minutes. Eligibility: To participate, you must meet the following criteria: -Be at least 18 years of age -Have a general interest in or familiarity with civic engagement and politics -Regularly use mobile apps and be comfortable navigating digital interfaces -Be available for a 45-60 minute in-person or virtual session How to Apply: If you're interested in participating, please fill out the application form below. We’re excited to share our hard work over the past several weeks!

With the general election around the corner, many people are finding themselves overwhelmed and stressed. In fact, a Pew Study showed that 70% of adults express frustration with the availability of unbiased information about politics and 65% of U.S. adults always/often feel exhausted by politics. Additionally, regardless of party affiliation, Americans feel that politics has become less respectful and less fact-based. This problem starts with civic education. Civic proficiency in high schools is 24% and has barely changed over the last 18 years. Where STEM education funding is $50 per student, civic education funding is $0.50 per student. The lasting impact of the civic education standards and funding bleeds into the broader civic engagement and participation. In 20 of the 30 largest cities, local turnout for elections is under 15%. This is concerning because these decisions largely impact our day to day lives. Recently, the number of US adults who can name all 3 branches of government dropped below 50% for the first time. So, if people are so overwhelmed and uneducated, what are they supposed to do? Poliquicks is offering a solution to help drown out the noise this election season and in the future. By covering only factual and objective information on local, state, and federal topics, users can find the information they need quickly and avoid the data overload everyone experiences. Poliquicks is a free nonpartisan political education app that eliminates the barriers between people and politics by providing objective, easy-to-understand information. Using AI and gamification, Poliquicks offers the most accurate and simplified political information available, to create a better-informed electorate and drive meaningful change in communities. In addition, Poliquicks offers after school programs focused on civic engagement and media literacy, teacher trainings, corporate workshops, and more. Poliquicks can be downloaded on the App Store and Google Play. Poliquicks offers 5 interactive and unique tabs: -Home feed: daily, curated feed based on location and topics of interest with bill action, local services, policy explanations, polls, and more. -Search: summary of topics, sub-topics, related bills, and associated representatives. -Learn: Duolingo-style educational modules that encourage users to climb the leaderboard and earn raffle tickets. -Reps: All local, state, and federal elected officials with a baseball card style set of data including stances and stock trades. -Elections: polling locations, ballot measures, a quiz to match with candidates based on stances. Users can show up to a polling location, uncertain of for whom they would like to vote, take a quick quiz, and instantly be matched to candidates. Poliquicks is breaking open the barrier between people and politics for everyone regardless of education, language, location, or socioeconomic status.
