Special recognition of our community's geospatial impact from UMN President Cunningham - also featuring a photo of PGC's Cole Kelleher collecting Google StreetView in Antarctica.
I continue to be impressed with the breadth and depth of research excellence across the?University of Minnesota. This week, I learned that UMN is a?global leader in geospatial technologies and analysis. We are the place to be?for research and education on all things mapping, satellite imaging, data science, machine learning, geography, and census and demographic information. These strengths will ultimately lead to?solutions to tomorrow's complex environmental, social and economic problems.

THANK YOU! We want to thank everyone who applied for and shared interest in our upcoming data workshop! We received an overwhelming amount of responses and it was a very competitive pool of candidates for only 30 available spaces, making our decisions very difficult. Applicants have been notified via email today on decisions for the workshop and travel grant. For those that we could not invite or participate this time, one of our goals from this workshop is to use some of the curriculum for online content and tutorials. The best way to stay up-to-date with our events and publications is to subscribe to our newsletter (z.umn.edu/pgcnewsletter) and join our community slack (z.umn.edu/pgcslack).
