Bluffing isn’t just for poker—we see it in business all the time, especially at the negotiation table. Have you ever been in a meeting where someone says: “We have other offers, so decide now.” “This is the best deal you’ll get.” “I’d love to negotiate, but my hands are tied.” These are classic bluffs. Instead of taking them at face value, pause and assess. The best negotiators don’t react emotionally—they ask clarifying questions to uncover the truth. Signs Someone Might Be Bluffing: ? They fidget or avoid direct eye contact ? They overuse phrases like “Trust me.” or “Honestly…” ? They create a false sense of urgency to rush you ? They over-explain but avoid clear specifics How to respond? Instead of folding, call the bluff by asking direct, pointed questions. Bluffers often give evasive answers to straightforward questions. They also tend to contradict themselves. Listen carefully. And don’t ignore your gut. If you feel something is off, it probably is. Have you ever spotted a bluff in business? Share your story with us. #Negotiation #Leadership #BusinessStrategy #WomenInBusiness #Confidence #CorporateEvents #CorporateWorkshops

Too often, women in business are talked over, underestimated, or overlooked. The game isn’t always fair—but that doesn’t mean you can’t play to win. The key? You have to speak up and ask for what you want. Respect isn’t given—it’s claimed. If you don’t assert your voice, someone else will fill the space for you. Your ideas, contributions, and leadership deserve to be heard. ?? Own Your Space – Walk with confidence, make eye contact, and take up room. Presence matters. ?? Control Your Tone – Speak with certainty, no hesitations. Avoid phrases like “I think”—state what you know. ?? Set Boundaries in Conversation – If interrupted, pause and reclaim the floor: “I wasn’t finished.” Respect starts with how you show up and what you demand. Own your value. Take the mic. And never play small. What’s one power move you’ve used to assert yourself in a tough room? Tell us in the comments! #WomenWhoLead #ConfidenceInBusiness #WomensHistoryMonth #Business #CorporateEvents #Negotiation #PlayToWin #LeadershipSkills #WomenInTheBoardroom #Strategy

Confidence isn’t luck. It’s strategy! The most powerful negotiators and leaders aren’t fearless. They’ve just learned how to show up, take up space, and own the room, even when the stakes are high. Want to boost your confidence in any high-stakes situation? → Control your body language. Stand tall, maintain eye contact, and move with purpose. → Slow down your speech. Silence and pace show authority. → Prime your mindset. Positive thinking actually works! → Reframe nerves as excitement. Your body reacts the same way! → Play to win, not to avoid losing. Take the bold move. Are you ready to strengthen your negotiation confidence? Contact us today to learn how PokerDivas helps you master the table and bring more confidence to your life. In poker and business, the one who stays composed under pressure holds the power. A great poker face isn’t about deception—it’s about control. It’s about not giving away too much information, keeping emotions in check, and making decisions from a place of strategy, not reaction. Imagine you're in a negotiation, and the other side throws a number at you that’s way below what you expected. Do you… ? React immediately, showing frustration or hesitation? ? Pause, stay composed, and make them wonder what you’re thinking? That’s right. Stay composed, keep them guessing, and play to win. Silence is a power move. Take a breath before speaking. Control your expressions. Remember that the way you say something can change how it's perceived. Keep things calm and confident, and own your poker face! #BoldMoves #PlayToWin #Confidence #Business #Negotiation #Leadership #CorporateEvents

Too many people—especially women—are taught to play it safe, say yes when they should negotiate, and avoid risks that could lead to bigger opportunities. But here’s the truth: The real key move is playing to win. Playing to win looks like: → Making the first move instead of waiting for permission → Setting the terms instead of just reacting → Taking smart risks, even when it’s uncomfortable → Saying no to what doesn’t serve you and yes to what challenges you The less you second-guess yourself, the more powerful you become. Are you playing to win or playing not to lose? ?? #PlayToWin #WomenWhoLead #Confidence #Business #Negotiation #BetOnYourself #Leadership #CorporateEvents #WomensHistoryMonth

Have you ever: → Walked away from a deal that didn’t serve you? → Negotiated a higher salary when others told you to settle? → Pitched an idea that seemed impossible—but got a “yes”? → Called out a bluff in a high-stakes negotiation? Tell us: What’s the boldest move you’ve made in business? ?? #Negotiation #Confidence #Business #PokerSkills #CorporateEvents

Here's a myth- hard work gets you raises?and promotions. NOPE. If no one knows what you contribute, you can be the best and the brightest but it's not going to get you what you want. You need to learn to brag. It doesn't mean being annoying and obnoxious?but speak up and be proud. Studies have found that women were significantly more likely to brag about a friend's professional accomplishments than their own for fear of violating conceptions about their own "ladylike" nature. Here are are six ways to self-promote: ?? Identify your wins: No one woke up this morning thinking, Let’s give Jessica a raise. ?So, take matters into your own hands and track your accomplishments. At the end of each week, list your key wins and how they contributed to the company’s success. When it’s time for performance reviews or interviews, you’ll have concrete examples ready to go. ? Own your value: Stop downplaying your strengths. You know you’re good, so say so. If you're the person who’s always solving complex problems, bringing in new clients or navigating difficult relationships, let people know. Something like “I’ve streamlined this process by 20% and I’m the go-to for resolving this issue.” Simple and powerful. ?Find opportunities to share: Look for moments to drop your wins into conversations. ?Casually mention how your project exceeded expectations. “Oh, by the way, our team crushed our goals last quarter by 20% thanks to our new strategy.” Even if no one responds, believe me they hear you. ?Don’t wait for others to notice: The world isn’t going to give you credit for being a superstar unless you speak up. After finishing a project, take the lead and send a quick email thanking everyone involved. Highlight the impact, like boosting sales by 15% or launching new tech. Be sure to CC your boss or higher-ups who may not realize you played a key role. It acknowledges the team while subtly showcasing your contributions. ?Build internal advocates: You need people in your corner to speak up for you when you're not in the room. Build relationships with key players who can brag for you. Connect with colleagues and leaders across departments, share your wins, and offer help. Something like “I’ve received great feedback from the marketing team about the support I provided, and I’m always looking for new opportunities to collaborate." ?? Network in social settings: Sometimes the best way to self-promote is while you’re in a less formal setting. Whether it’s on the golf course or at the poker table, casual environments can be perfect for dropping your accomplishments without sounding like you’re trying too hard. During a round of golf or a night at a charity poker tournament, mention how you lead your team to exceed expectations on a big project. Then you can get competitive and win the biggest pot! Hard work is not enough. Being confident about your worth and strategically sharing your wins can make all the difference. Brag Away. #leadership #keynotespeaker
