POISE Foundation: Four Decades of Strategic Philanthropy in Black Communities Since our founding in 1980 as Pittsburgh's first Black community foundation, POISE Foundation has been dedicated to assisting the Black community in achieving self-sustaining practices through strategic leadership, collective giving, grantmaking, and advocacy.
