In the Face of Election Results, We Stand Together ????? Today is a hard day.?Last night’s election results have brought a wave of despair and fear for many, especially for trans and gender-diverse individuals who are already among the most marginalized in our country. The profound impacts on our community are clear, and we recognize the grief and pain this change brings. In a world that doesn’t always support us, we support one another. For those of us in regions already experiencing the brunt of anti-trans legislation and discrimination, we understand the resilience that hard times like these demand. Our trans ancestors have shown us what resistance, community care, and collective action look like. Today, we honor them by drawing on their strength and courage. The fight for justice is timeless. We will never stop showing up for one another, even when the path ahead feels more challenging. We keep going because we must. Our commitment to the belief that trans people deserve dignity, care, and the freedom to live authentically is unwavering, and it is grounded in the incredible power of our shared empathy and resolve. Today is a hard day.?Allow yourself to feel what you need to feel. Take time to process and honor your emotions. And when you're ready, join us. Connect, speak out, organize, donate, and continue to show up—for justice, for each other, and for the love that sustains us.

The latest Anti-Trans Legislative Risk Assessment Map—developed by journalist, trans advocate, and valued member of the Point of Pride Advisory Board Erin Reed, based on her extensive reporting—has just been released. The map highlights an increasingly dangerous landscape for trans and gender diverse individuals across the United States, with a sharp rise in policies that threaten the safety and well-being of both trans youth and adults. Texas now holds a “Do Not Travel” advisory, only the second state after Florida to reach this level of risk. This follows recent actions in Odessa, where a punitive $10,000 penalty was introduced for trans individuals using public restrooms that align with their gender identity. Nationally, the risk level has similarly increased to "High Risk" in response to a troubling rise in anti-trans rhetoric and restrictive policies. Point of Pride has seen firsthand the impact of these changes: two in three people we serve live in high-risk states, and more applicants than ever are reaching out from these areas. Many report fear, anxiety, and profound uncertainty about their ability to live safely and authentically in their own communities. With increasing restrictions, countless individuals are left without access to public spaces or basic healthcare services without the threat of discrimination. This elevated risk climate serves as a stark reminder that the lives of #trans and gender diverse people are continuously impacted by a wave of harmful laws. These policies are not only discriminatory but have real, devastating consequences for individuals seeking to live their truth. Point of Pride remains unwavering in our commitment to ensuring that those affected by these challenges receive the support and resources they need—not only to survive, but to thrive.
