We drank our champagne, and it saved us 85% on our Snowflake costs… Our Snowflake bill exploded.?So we had Or Chen take a look, and instead of throwing more money at it, we practiced what we preach. 1: Ran a deep analysis 2. Found the waste 3. Fixed the architecture What we found: ?? Expensive queries running slower than expected. A lack of proper filters on Snowflake meant we were scanning way more data than necessary. ?? Ingestion and analysis fighting for resources. Heavy analysis queries were clogging the pipeline, delaying new data. ?? Warehouses running inefficiently. We were overprovisioning compute and keeping warehouses on longer than needed. What we did: Split warehouses so ingestion and analysis didn’t choke each other. Rewrote queries to prune partitions properly – no more full-table scans. Right-sized workloads, slashed ingestion time, and killed idle compute. The results? 85% lower costs. 20x better performance. Cloud cost spikes aren’t random, they’re a symptom of unoptimized defaults and invisible inefficiencies. We found them. We fixed them. You can too. ??
