Latinx communities continue to face disproportionately high rates of HIV, driven by structural inequities, stigma and limited access to culturally responsive care. This National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day, Point Flagship Scholar Jahn Jaramillo — who is currently earning his doctorate in prevention science and community health at the University of Miami — shares how cities can help fight the HIV crisis in Latinx communities. https://lnkd.in/g8-_KV5G

Higher education promotes students' long-term wellbeing, according to research. Other outcomes of postsecondary education include lifelong positive outcomes, such as agency, purpose, identity, and financial wellness. This shows that higher education can help improve areas of life that LGBTQ students say are often out of reach. Institutions must expand support services to foster emotional and mental health, equipping students to maintain their wellbeing beyond college. https://lnkd.in/gghW4J47
