"Bias from the past can lead to bias in the future." Trained on biased data, AI can often produce racist and sexist stereotypes. Especially when it comes to activities that aren't typically equated to specific minorities. The result: it compounds misrepresentation and continues damaging narratives. We have an opportunity to change all that. INNOCEAN USA is currently working with pocstock -- a BIPOC stock image company -- to help counteract this bias by building upon the current stock image library, as well as creating an inclusive AI practices guide. As you can see below, our photo shoot of Black surfers is a step in the right direction. But we're not doing this alone... We're partnering with several other amazing agencies who are doing their own photoshoots over the next month. With enough partners, we can retrain AI and 'un-bias' the data. If you would like to be part of this important program, please DM me or David Mesfin and we'll happily walk you through the process. Together, we can amplify each other's efforts and ensure our industry takes positive steps forward as we move into an AI-driven future.
