  • Attention PNGAS members, PA Guardsmen, veterans and family members! We face a pivotal moment as Congress considers a legislative proposal that may significantly impact the operational integrity and governance of our Air National Guard space units. The proposal in question, known as LP 480, seeks to transfer these units to the Space Force, bypassing the traditionally required consent of the affected state governors. This issue strikes at the core of state rights and federal oversight, embedded in federal law since 1903 to prevent such unilateral actions. The proposed transfer could potentially dismantle crucial capabilities, leaving a gap in our national defense that could take years to remedy. Moreover, this sets a worrying precedent that could affect other aspects of the National Guard's future operations and autonomy.Your voice is urgently needed to help counter this proposal. We cannot emphasize enough the importance of community action in this matter. You can make a difference by reaching out to your elected representatives through the NGAUS website. Please visit https://lnkd.in/grqfvBTZ to express your opposition and urge lawmakers to uphold our governors' rights to consent. We encourage you not only to take action yourself but also to engage your family, fellow unit members, and friends in this crucial effort. Every voice counts, and together, we can safeguard the operational and governance standards that have long protected our National Guard units. Stand with us in this critical moment to maintain the integrity and readiness of our forces.

  • The Lebanon VA Medical Center announces a significant expansion in Veteran health care eligibility, encompassing all Veterans exposed to toxins and other hazards during their service. This initiative, directed by President Biden, bypasses the phased-in approach of the PACT Act, making millions of Veterans eligible for VA health care years ahead of schedule. Veterans from the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, and recent conflicts, as well as those exposed to hazards during stateside service, are encouraged to enroll directly in VA health care. This expansion is aimed at improving health outcomes and satisfaction among Veterans by offering quality, affordable care. The VA emphasizes the ease of enrollment without the need for VA benefits application, extending care to those exposed to various toxins and hazards. Veterans and their families are urged to visit buff.ly/3KT5IB8 or call 1-800-MYVA411 for more information and to apply for health care. Disclaimer: Information shared is for community benefit.
