Happy 15-year #workanniversary at PND Engineers, Inc., Brian Nielsen! Brian received his bachelor’s degree in #civilengineering and his master’s degree in #structuralengineering from Colorado State University. Brian has more than 20 years of professional experience, specializing in structural design, including new building construction, additions, and seismic retrofits, as well as inspections/assessments of existing buildings, bridges, and marine facilities. Brian, who works out of our Juneau office in Southeast Alaska, is currently managing civil and structural design services for the Mount Edgecumbe Medical Center Campus project (pictured below) in Sitka, Alaska, for the SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) with project partners Davis Constructors & Engineers, Inc. and NBBJ Design. The new campus, scheduled for completion in 2025, includes a 245,000-square-foot hospital, a new 95,536-square-foot clinic, and a new 29,456-square-foot #hospital and #medicalclinic building. #happyworkaversary, Brian!

Happy 10-year #workanniversary, Jake Kopplow, P.E.! Jake was hired by PND Engineers, Inc. in 2014 after graduating from Idaho State University with his #civilengineering degree and working for an industrial contractor. Jake now has over a decade of professional experience, specializing in civil/structural design and construction. Jake’s experience includes water, wastewater, and storm utilities; site civil; roadways; airports; and marine/waterfront structures in urban, rural, and remote communities. Jake is a proficient project manager who consistently leads and executes #projects with cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams. Jake, who recently provided site and utility improvements for the U.S. Coast Guard Base Kodiak Nemetz Family Housing Development (pictured below), is currently designing a lift station replacement to accommodate the award-winning project. Happy 15-year #workanniversary, Tyler Bradshaw! PND Engineers, Inc. hired Tyler in 2009. He received his bachelor’s degree in #engineeringscience from Colorado State University and his associate degree in #aviationmaintenance technology from the Community College of the Air Force. The United States Air Force Force veteran now has more than 16 years of professional engineering experience, specializing in water resources and #civilengineering in both design and #constructionengineering settings. Tyler consistently leads cross-functional teams to develop long-lasting designs for projects through collaborative efforts with key stakeholders, such as coastal utility systems specifically designed for Alaska harbors. Tyler has designed more than 30,000 linear feet of float and pier pipe systems, and he has designed, inspected, and administered construction for water, sewer, and fire suppression systems on more than 20 harbor and pier projects. Happy five-year #workanniversary, Sarah Schell! PND Engineers, Inc. hired Sarah in 2019 as an accounting technician. Sarah graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage with an #accounting degree, then spent a year bookkeeping and two years as a project accounting supervisor for an Alaska Native Corporation in the industrial service sector. Sarah is responsible for #contracts, project setup, insurance, and project reporting at PND. With more than 12,000 #projects in our 45-year history, PND keeps a pretty steady pace, and Sarah is as steady as she goes. She is an integral part of PND’s accounting group. #happyworkaversary, Sarah!

On behalf of our #designbuild team, Perini Management Services, Inc. and RSP Architects, PND Engineers, Inc. was honored to take place in the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Seattle & Mount Tacoma Post Projects of Excellence 2024 awards banquet October 25 in Seattle, Washington. PND provided site and utility improvements for the award-winning Nemetz Family Housing Development at U.S. Coast Guard Base Kodiak, which won SAME Environmental Stewardship honors in the 2024 awards program's large business category. Our project also earned the People's Choice award, voted on by our peers! The distinction marks our team's third SAME award in the last decade, following wins for our USCG Cold Bay Forward Operation Location Hangar Project in 2017 and USCG Base Kodiak Upper Government Hill Housing Development Project in 2016. Osborne Construction Company was the general contractor for Nemetz, while RSA Engineering provided mechanical and electrical engineering and Corvus Design landscape architecture.
