Thanks, Srishti for hosting this insightful session on leveling up my resume. ???? ??Some of the things to take away: ?Recruiters take around ~5-7 seconds to read through the resume ???Only 25% of applicant resume are qualified by ATS software before recruiter even looking at them ??Using numbers and statics on your resume can help show impacts ???Common Pitfalls * Too long: long resumes can be hard to read and analyze * Generic resume: less chance of having relevant keywords from specific job description (e.g. SWE resume and PM resume, separate them) * Missing keywords: most likely to get filtered out if you don't have specific keywords * Poor bullet points: too long, did not highlight quantifiable impact ?Tips to optimize your resume * Condensed resume ( for <5 years): only include relevant skills, experience and interest to keep your resume relevant and concise * Tailored resume: I tailor them by job functions, if I am looking for both SWE and PM work, I have 1 SWE resume and 1 PM resume * Strong Action Verbs: to show leadership and initiative (e.g. administered, advocated, spearheaded) * Strong Bullet Points: to highlight quantifiable impact to showcase skills and experience, even small impact is something valuable to highlight -- XOXO Macy So Follow fore more updates and daily learnings! ?? #resumetips #resume #ghc24 #atssystem #tipsandtricks #careertips
